The blonde bodyguard was put in the spotlight earlier during Markle and Prince Harry's trip to Australia, Fiji and Tonga, when she was forced to intervene due to crowd management concerns.

Meghan cradled her growing baby bump as she wowed in red wearing a £1,085 Sentaler coat and a Babaton by Aritzia dress. According to royal biographer Andrew Morton, Meghan is very into food: "He loves cooking, exploring new foods, and experimenting with fresh flavours".

Their first engagement of the day was to visit Hamilton Square to view a newly erected sculpture that commemorates the 100th anniversary of Wilfred Owen's death.

The statue, which is named after one of the Birkenhead war poet's poems, "Futility", is cast in bronze and represents an exhausted World War One solider. While visiting Tomorrow's Women Wirral, the Duke and Duchess heard first-hand accounts of the women's experiences, before visiting the Inspiration Hall.
