Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Huddersfield v Arsenal

Emery and Merson

Paul Merson is worried about Arsenal's chances at Huddersfield today

The Saturday afternoon clash saw Arsenal pick up their first away win in the Premier League since November, but Huddersfield caused a late scare with an injury-time goal.

You have to feel sorry for Huddersfield and their new manager Jan Siewert after they played their hearts out to try and get their first win in 12 games.

Victory moved Arsenal level on points with fifth-placed Chelsea, who play Manchester City on Sunday, while Huddersfield stayed bottom, 13 points from safety.

Iwobi should have added his second after Mkhitaryan fed him but he fired his shot into Hamer's chest, while Leno denied Diakhaby again and Huddersfield's home debutant Karlan Grant had an effort cleared off the line at the other end.

The battle for Champions League qualification looks set to go to the wire, with a single point splitting United in fourth and Arsenal in sixth, although Chelsea have a game in hand.

But Son had the last word in the 90th minute as the winger raced clear to slot past Schmeichel for his 15th goal of the season. A rapid exchange of passes opened up a chance for Maddison, prompting Jan Vertonghen to rashly bundle over the midfielder.

And they certainly tried, and in fact had more possession over the 90 minutes at 55%, and the sad truth is that that they were let down by the lack of finishing and confidence in front of goal. For all that, the hosts did not pick ways through Arsenal's three centre-backs very often, whereas Arsenal looked unsafe almost every time they tore forward.

"If we ask is it hard for us, I think it's hard, but we can".

Emery was still keen to focus on the positives of his side's win, telling Sky Sports: "Their coach said yesterday they need to run a lot, and we spoke in the season that we need to show everybody we want these three points, and run like they are running and also more".

"Defensively, the Gunners are just not very good and I've been a bit puzzled by some of Unai Emery's decisions", Lawrenson told BBC Sport. We do our work to win every game and on Saturday we did the job.
