The Malta University students council (KSU) is rallying students from the University of Malta to march towards Parliament in Valletta, joining thousands of students and youths in 92 other countries to demand that governments, authorities and stakeholders take the necessary action to halt climate change.
The worldwide student strike will see classrooms empty in cities across the globe, from Boston to Bogota, Dhaka to Durban and Lagos to London.

"I have a younger sister in junior high, and my mom has organized to bring my sister and a couple of her classmates down to the clock tower", says organizer Ivan Andreou.

Organisers claim students from schools in at least 18 areas of Scotland are preparing for strikes, inspired by the Fridays for Future movement.

"The reality of climate change really impacted my community this year, when bushfires ravaged the Huon Valley, and burned over 200,000 hectares of wilderness across the state", he says. "I want you to feel the fear I feel every day".
"We might live in a world as adults without food security and without fresh water if we don't do something now", she said.
Swan Christian College student Connor Peroni, 15, said her generation would not be complacent in the destruction of the planet.
Students will start to gather at City Hall at 10:30 a.m. on Friday and talks will begin at 11 a.m. Portland Public Schools sent out a letter to parents Thursday afternoon reminding them that any students who walk out will be marked absent.
"All schools are showing their support; we have been getting messages from everywhere - from Thornhill to the Tech - and there are even people travelling from Omagh to show their support".
