You wait years - if not decades - for a live-action Star Wars series and all of a sudden, three show up at once.
It was revealed a year ago that the pair would write and produce a new series of Star Wars films, separate from both the episodic Skywalker saga and the previously announced trilogy that is in development from Star Wars: The Last Jedi's Rian Johnson.
The company confirmed that the next films would be released at two-year intervals in December of 2022, 2024, and 2026, but there was no word on whether those films would be from Benioff and Weiss or from Johnson.Читайте также: Trump says China will be 'hurt very badly' if no trade deal
After releasing five films since purchasing Lucasfilm in 2012 - The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Last Jedi, Solo, and now The Rise of Skywalker - he said he believed "it would be smart for us to take a bit of a hiatus while we figure out what's next". "So we're not doing nothing".
Then, there's the concern about how Benioff and Weiss will handle a Star Wars film or series, given the rising criticism about the final season of Game of Thrones-much of it centring around the writing and pace.
The first series is entitled The Mandalorian, which Jon Favreau is shepherding, with the second untitled show said to be a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, following Diego Luna's Cassian Andor.
Worth a mention is that if Rian Johnson is working on a new Star Wars trilogy, Disney would have announced release dates for four new movies and not three, which probably means the Game of Thrones creators are working on a new trilogy.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
