Durant was again a spectator as the Warriors came from behind to beat the Trail Blazers 114-111 in Oakland on Thursday, having suffered his injury in Game 5 of the semi-final series with the Houston Rockets.

However, the Warriors reached the NBA Finals twice - winning once - and they won a record 73 games before Durant arrived.

While that doesn't mean they're better without him, playing without Durant is the reality the Warriors are facing for the time being.

"We can't sit and look over our shoulder and say, 'Hey, man, when is K going to be back?' " forward Draymond Green told reporters after Game 2.

The Warriors are taking a wait-and-see approach on Durant, who won't travel with the team to Portland for Games 3 and 4 in the West.

Game 3 in the best-of-seven series is Saturday night at Portland.

"We stole that game", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said afterward.

CJ McCollum leads the way for Portland with 22 points of his own and Damian Lillard has scored 17 points on 4-for-10 shooting through three. He has yet to play in the Western Conference finals against the Trail Blazers. I can't recall a single moment in National Basketball Association history in which a star player left a championship team directly after winning a championship. Golden State is now 66-29 on the season, 35-13 at home, 41-53-1 against the spread and 49-45-1 with the under. They led by as many as 15 at half-time and then again by eight points with just over four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

"We've been here before", said Green, who had 16 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 blocks in the win. He covers up so much for us.

Stephen Curry erupted for 36 points in Game 1, leading the Warriors to a 116-94 victory.

It may be a while longer before Kevin Durant returns to the court for the Warriors this postseason. "We've got to reshift our focus and make some adjustments coming into Game 2".

"I think they are harder to guard (without Durant)", Curry said. "Hopefully he'll be back at some point". This is our third game, three and a half games really, without him.
